Most custom frameless shower doors in MetroWest Boston fall between $1,800 and $2,600 installed, glass, hardware and labor included. Where your project lands in that range depends on the size of the opening, how many glass panels it needs, the type of glass and the hardware finish. The fastest way to know your number is to send one photo of your shower: we reply with a price, then confirm it with a free in-home measurement.
What is included in that price?
A custom frameless door is not a box off a shelf. The price covers the whole job:
- Measuring on site. We measure your finished opening, because walls and curbs are rarely perfectly straight.
- The glass, cut to fit. 3/8 inch tempered safety glass, made for your opening.
- The hardware. CRL hinges, clamps and handle in the finish you choose.
- Installation. Most doors go in in about two hours.
- A 1-year warranty in writing on the glass and the hardware.
The in-home measurement is free.
What makes a frameless shower door cost more or less?
Five things move the number, in this order:
- Number of panels. A single door on a tiled opening is the simplest build. A door plus a fixed panel, or a corner enclosure with a return panel, adds glass and hardware.
- Size of the opening. Taller and wider glass is heavier and costs more to make and to handle. Floor to ceiling glass moves the price toward the top of the range.
- Type of glass. Clear glass is the standard. Low-iron glass removes the green tint you see on the edge of regular glass and costs more. We explain the difference in Clear vs Low-Iron Shower Glass.
- Hardware finish. Chrome, brushed nickel, matte black or gold. The finish you pick changes the cost of the hardware.
- The shape of the space. Sloped ceilings, half walls and stone benches need custom cuts and notches in the glass.
Frameless vs semi-frameless: how much do you save?
Semi-frameless doors use a thin metal frame around some edges. They cost less than frameless and work well in tighter openings. Frameless is our most requested build because it shows more of your tile and is easier to keep clean. If you are comparing the two, start with Frameless vs Semi-Frameless Shower Doors.
Why custom glass costs more than a store kit
A store kit comes in standard sizes and you, or a handyman, adjust the opening to fit the kit. Custom glass is the other way around: the glass is cut to your opening. That is what gives a frameless door its clean lines and tight fit, and it is why the price includes measuring and installation instead of only the product.

How do you get an exact price?
- Send one photo of your shower by text or through our quote form. A phone picture is enough.
- Get your price. Midia replies with a clear number, not a guess.
- Free measurement. We come to your home, measure the finished opening and confirm the glass and the hardware with you.
- Install. Your glass is made to your measurements and installed, usually 2 to 3 weeks after the measurement.
Before we measure, the tile, the curb and any stone work need to be finished and the shower valve and fixtures installed. If your bathroom is still in progress, we can plan the measurement around your contractor.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a frameless shower door cost in MetroWest Boston?
Most custom frameless projects fall between $1,800 and $2,600 installed, including the glass, the hardware, the measurement and the installation.
Is the in-home measurement free?
Yes. The measurement is free, and it is when we confirm the final design, glass and hardware finish with you.
Is low-iron glass worth the extra cost?
If your tile is white or light colored, low-iron glass keeps it looking true because it has almost no green tint. On darker tile the difference is harder to see, and clear glass is usually enough.
How long does it take from measurement to installation?
Usually 2 to 3 weeks. The installation itself takes about two hours.
Do you repair existing shower doors?
No. We only make and install new custom glass. If your door is old or damaged, we can quote a full replacement. See shower door replacement.
